IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE WORLD OF CHEMO!

You will probably start to lose your hair somewhere between the 2nd and third treatment.

It may fall out very fast or gradually.

Even if you choose to shave your head you will continue to have some hair loss on your bedding and pillowcases.

In order to control that loss, we suggest a nightcap which you can find on our website. (Look under Lounge Caps)

This cap will collect the hair for you and you can just shake it out in the morning. You may want to keep several on hand so you can wash them on a regular basis.

You’ll find that the scalp will be extremely tender initially, that might make it difficult to think about a wig or an ordinary ball cap which tends to be uncomfortable on a newly bald head.

Plan on where you will be spending most of your time while going thru treatment. If you are staying home you will want to be comfortable answering the door, going mailbox etc.

If you need to work during your treatment time, then you might want to try one of our Turbans or other soft hats.

You also need to consider the time of year and choose warmer hats for winter and fall.
